Arts Administration & engagement

After launching the Re-Sounding History Series through Syracuse University, I have now worked with the Cornell Concert Series for nearly a decade, doing everything from strategic planning to hands-on tasks. I have increased audience numbers by 25% and educational engagement participation by 50% over the last five years, and won $100k+ in grants over the last 9 years. My focus on community engagement has seen over 2500 Cornell and Ithaca community members participating in free interactions with our guest artists.

Academic teaching & publication

I am an ethnomusicologist who studies how people use music to make meaning. I have taught a variety of courses in various capacities at 5 different universities. I have taught over 500 students, served on theses committees, and become an invited speaker and manuscript reviewer. I love teaching and get great reviews from students and colleagues. My teaching draws from my research, which has so far resulted in 3 books, 20+ peer reviewed articles/book chapters, and more than 30 professional presentations.
